There is no make-up for the midterm exam - students who are excused this exam on medical grounds etc will have their final exam reweighted.

Students who cannot make the final exam must go to the office of the Dean of Science to get a 'Special Exam form' which they must then bring to me for signature so as to be registered for the special exam which will be held on a day to be announced later.

Material to be covered. All lectures and readings up to slack week.

    See notes at end of each lecture for key points to cover in your review. concentrate on
1) Knowing key features that distinguish major groups


2. Key features of life cycle for the species covered in lecture - sexual and asexual stages, place and timing of meiosis etc.

3. Terminology ( as per lecture notes) e.g names of spores, structures, key concepts etc.

4. Importance of key species ( as emphasized in lecture/lab) to Humans or to Ecology.

Lots of short answer questions, including either interpreting diagrams or providing a diagram, definitions, names of groups, genera
