3. Course Syllabus

This course deals with the fundamental aspects of gas chromatography, liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis. Topics covered include: thermodynamics of chromatography, rate model of band broadening, extra-column band broadening, roles of stationary phase and mobile phase in chromatographic separations, principles and operations of capillary electrophoresis.

Students are expected to have knowledge on chromatography at the undergraduate level.

Classes are comprised of formal lectures and informal discussion.  Anyone wishing to audit this course is welcome, but is expected to participate in class discussion.

No official textbooks.
