YOU MUST BRING A HAND LENS TO THE LABS!!!!
The mineralogy test is scheduled for September 24/25th during lab time. NOTE: The general formula for garnet on the mineralogy test preparation handout is given as Ca(Mg,Fe)2Al2Si3O12, meaning (Ca + (Mg,Fe)2)Al2Si3O12 NOT (Ca(Mg,Fe))3.
PLEASE BRING A BLANK 3.5 HD COMPUTER DISKETTE TO THE LABS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1st and 2nd.
There will be no early morning lecture on Tuesday the 15th October. However, there will be a lab that day - PLEASE bring in your class notes concerning the classification of Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic rocks. You will be permitted to raise questions concerning this material during the lab. The test will include the material in lecture 3 (Tectonic Environments) to lecture 6 (Metamorphic rocks) only.

PLATE TECTONICS TEST
Reminder: the next test on Thursday Nov. 14th will include material from lecture 8 (History of Plate Tectonics) through to the lecture on Continental Collision, inclusive, but will not include the material in lecture 14 (Volcanism) or the lecture on mineral deposits given by Professor Duke.. Note that there will be no supplementary given for this test.
