1)	Name five major Plate Tectonic environments, and cite examples of each. [20]


2)	Give the chemical formula and plate tectonic environment(s) characterised by the following minerals:
	a) Mg,Al-Fe,Cr-bearing spinel;  b) glaucophane;  c) orthoclase;  d) epidote;  e) muscovite. 	[20]


3). What rock types would you associate with the following:
	a) foreland basins/eugeosynclines;  b) volcanic terranes of Archean age; c) the mantle; 
	d) Lower Proterozoic marine shelf regions;  e) those parts of mid-Ocean ridges above the gabbro cumulate layer
	f) the Franciscan of California [20]
