Description: Photovoice provides people with cameras to photograph their perceived health and work realities. The three main goals of this assessment method are: to record and reflect personal and community strengths and concerns, to promote critical dialogue about personal and community issues through group discussion of photographs, and to inform policymakers.

Scoring/Interpretation: The steps to interpretation includes: a. selection – participants select and talk about one or two photographs which are most significant; b. contextualizing – participants take a critical stance on their pictures in terms of the acronym SHOWeD (What do you see here? What is really happening here? How does this relate to our lives? Why does this situation, concern, or strength exist? What can we do about it?); c. codifying – participants discuss issues, themes, or theories that arise from their photographs.
