14. CYBORGS & NEO-LUDDITES


THEMES

Having examined the pathways along which the networked society is developing, we'll now look at some radical visions of its future-- "cyborgs"--who like computers but believe it needs to be reclaimed from dangerous uses--and "neo-luddites"--who suspect that our civilizations whole infatuation with high-tech may be a fatal mistake. Are we feeling post-human yet?
