Ozonolysis
The above reactions are all variations on a theme: electron rich alkene attacks Lewis acid.
This is true for ozonolysis, but mechanism is more complicated. The electrostatic potential maps help explain the reactivity of the monozonide and why after fragmentation it combines the way it does to the ozononide.
