Logistics:The Final
Exam will be held at 9:00-12:00 on December 8th in WSC Rm 55. Bring a
#2 pencil to fill in the scantron portion of the exam and your student ID.
Format:
The exam will consist of 80 questions, 65 multiple choice (each worth 1 points),
10 fill-in the blank (each worth 2 points) and 5 short answer questions(each worth 3 points).Short
answer questions will include definitions, lists and several sentence answers.
Material Covered:
The Final Exam is a weighted cumulative exam.Roughly 80% of the exam will be on material from the second half of the
course, roughly 20% will be on material
from the first half of the course.Combined
with the midterm, this will give an equal weighting to both halves of the
course.
Studying:
Review your class handouts.These
are available on-line at http://instruct.uwo.ca/earth-sci/081/You will be expected to know the vocabulary words with the exception of
those few not covered in class and not found in the text.You
will be expected to have done the readings found on the reading list and to know
the material relevant to the Daily Objectives found on the handouts.
Review
your class notes.Not all of the
material covered in class is found in the text; this is particularly true for
the last few lectures.If you
missed a class, talk to a classmate and see if you can borrow their notes.Concentrate particularly to policy issues – what are the
pros and cons to the different sides.Know
and be able to describe the basic concepts/processes discussed in class.
Grades to Date:
The grades will be posted on WebCT by
Tuesday December 5th.This includes all of you labs, the lab final, and
the lecture midterm.If you have any questions
