Information for the Lecture Final

Logistics: The Final Exam will be held at 9:00-12:00 on December 8th in WSC Rm 55.  Bring a #2 pencil to fill in the scantron portion of the exam and your student ID.

Format: The exam will consist of 80 questions, 65 multiple choice (each worth 1 points), 10 fill-in the blank (each worth 2 points) and 5 short answer questions  (each worth 3 points).  Short answer questions will include definitions, lists and several sentence answers.

Material Covered: The Final Exam is a weighted cumulative exam.  Roughly 80% of the exam will be on material from the second half of the course, roughly 20% will be on material from the first half of the course.  Combined with the midterm, this will give an equal weighting to both halves of the course.

Studying: Review your class handouts.  These are available on-line at http://instruct.uwo.ca/earth-sci/081/  You will be expected to know the vocabulary words with the exception of those few not covered in class and not found in the text.  You will be expected to have done the readings found on the reading list and to know the material relevant to the Daily Objectives found on the handouts.

Review your class notes.  Not all of the material covered in class is found in the text; this is particularly true for the last few lectures.  If you missed a class, talk to a classmate and see if you can borrow their notes.  Concentrate particularly to policy issues – what are the pros and cons to the different sides.  Know and be able to describe the basic concepts/processes discussed in class.

Grades to Date: The grades will be  posted on WebCT  by Tuesday December 5th.  This includes all of you labs, the lab  final, and the lecture midterm.  If you have any questions about specific grades see Dr. Lescinsky.

GOOD LUCK ON THE EXAM.
