  073 1-7a-1: 1L back-reef rift_passive_margin; fossiliferous micritic limestone; fossil rich base of bed with brachiopod valves in concave-up position; this is the hydrodynamically stable position for a valve which has gravitationally settled to the seafloor; back reef or open marine shelf, photic zone, warm water, low energy or benthos tossed about too much; sample has predominantly articulated in-life-position fossils more indicative of instantaneous burial of a colonized sea floor, perhaps by a storm; box 454;
