North Portage Regional Geology
Four phases of penetrative deformation have been traced into the Meadowbank deposit area by GSC personnel.
A major synform is interpreted in the North Portage area. In the MB deposit area, as regionally, F3 folds apparently have a minor megascopic expression.
This may explain why the North Portage synform (NPs) and related fabric elements, considered F4 fabrics regionally, have been regarded as F3 fabrics by CBD geologists in bedrock and drill core data. In your abstract on Fig. 3 note that F3(CBD) = F4(GSC).
GSC mapping has observed structural fabrics on the NW limb of the NPs have a similar attitude to corresponding regional structures.
