Meadowbank Gold Mineralization
The deposits show seven styles of sulfide mineralization that are grouped according to their relationship to the major deformation phases.
Syn-D2 includes two styles of gold mineralization.
5) Secondary sulfides (pyrrhotite +/- pyrite) and gold occur in patchy zones that cut across earlier sulfide and magnetite in S1.These textures are associated with in situ brecciation, quartz veins and silicification in D2 dilatant zones.
6) Pyrrhotite +/- pyrite and minor arsenopyrite are also present as blebs and streaks along the S2 crenulation cleavages that are axial planar to minor F2 folds
7) Syn-D4 (NPs) includes late undeformed, pyrite-rich, vuggy quartz with pyrite infilling fractures(S4) and associated chlorite alteration. Probable local re-mobilization.
