About the doc folder

The doc folder contains documentation of the Generalized Geology of the World data project and data, and text files listing data sources.

Contents:
========

\doc
	- GGW_Documentation.rtf: describes the history, purpose, compilation methods, geospatial and accuracy issues, and general content of the Generalized Geology of the World GIS data set and database.  The database schema is explained in detail in Appendix I, the data sources listed in Appendix II.
				
	- DataSourcesPrincipal.txt:  Data sources used for geospatial elements and principal age and rock type attributes that were used for the derivative theme data sets in text format. Note that citations for each derivative theme and continent are included in DBF format in each theme folder of the data directory.

	- DataSourcesAll.txt: Full list of data sources in text format.
