NOTE: need to install drivers for both the Belkin USB-RS232 adapter and for the Belkin USB to Serial Port;
the serial Port is assigned COM4

Installation:
1. Insert the installation disk into the computer

2. Plug the device into an available USB port

3. When the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' window
   appears, click 'Next'.

4. On the 'Install Hardware Device Drivers' window
       - Make sure 'Search for suitable driver...' 
         is selected
       - Click 'Next'

5. Check the 'Floppy disk' or 'CD-ROM' option, depending
   on your install media, and click 'Next'.

6. On the 'Driver Files Search Results' window:
	- Make sure it says 'Windows found a driver...'
	- Click 'Next'

7. Windows will copy the necessary files.

8. On the 'Completeing the Found New Hardware Wizard' window:
	- Make sure it says 'Windows has finished installing...'
	- Click 'Finish'

9. Windows will then set up the COM port, this procedure is automatic.


Updating the driver:
1. Right click on the 'My Computer' icon.

2. Select 'Properties' on the menu that appears.

3. Click on the 'Hardware' tab.

4. Click the 'Device Manager...' button.

5. Double click on the line that says:
   'Universal Serial Bus controllers'

6. Double click on the line that says:
   'Belkin F5U103 USB-RS232 Adapter'

	NOTE: DO NOT use the line in the 'Ports'
	      section that says: 
	      'Belkin F5U103 USB Serial Port (COMx)'
		  to update the drivers

7. Click on the 'Driver' tab.

8. Click on the 'Update Driver...' button.

9. Follow the instructions as they appear.

Removing the Driver:
On the installation disk for Windows 2000 that came with
your product, there is a utility called F5U103RM.EXE.

1. Place your install disk in the computer.

2. Click the 'Start' menu.

3. Select the 'Run...' option.

4. Type the following:
   x:\F5U103RM.EXE
     where x is the driver letter of your installation disk
     usually this is a or d.

5. Answer the questions on the screen. 

Errata for F5U103:
1. Versions of firmware for the F5U103 Serial Adapter prior to 3.05 do 
   not implement hardware handshaking properly.  The Windows 2000
   drivers will not activate hardware handshaking on these devices.  
   This may result in incompatability between some serial devices and
   the F5U103 if hardware handshaking is used.
