French 002, Intensive
French
Description: French 002 is an intensive course designed for students
with little or no experience in French. Emphasis during classroom and
language lab hours will be on speaking and listening, putting into practice
the grammatical concepts and vocabulary necessary for basic communication
in French. Students will be expected to do regular reading and writing
assignments, and to work independently on computerized language exercises.
This course is taught mainly in English.
Prerequisite :
Permission of the Department based on Placement Test.

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:30am to 9:30pm, Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm (takes
50 minutes)
All students who lack the formal prerequisite for a desired course
and all students wishing to enrol in French 002, 010, 020E, 021, 035a/b,
or 045a/b without having previously taken a French course at this university
must take a Placement Test. Placement Tests are taken in Room 141 University
College. Students entering first year at U.W.O. may take the test after
registration, during the ADD-DROP period. Senior students should endeavour
to take the test in the previous Spring. (Students with OAC French are
not exempt from this requirement.)
