General description of the course:

This half course is designed for students who want to actively participate in the Computer Age. As you explore and learn about the technology, you will have access to the most modern tools and resources available. Computers, software and the World Wide Web are the elements which will help you write assignments, do a research project, author your own Web Page and create a Multi-Media presentation. The course is taught in English, but you have the option to submit your work in French or English. I will be available for consultation during office hours or by appointment.

Required Materials:

2 Boxes of 3.5" HD diskettes (20 diskettes)

Optional Materials:

Corel WordPerfect8 Suite (Academic Edition) by Corel Corporation, ©1997

The Computer Laboratories are available for all students enrolled at Western.
 

A note about textbooks:

There are no textbooks for the course. At the end of class, students receive a diskette with an abridged version of the day's lecture on it, so that they may review what was taught at their own pace. All lectures on diskette are compatible with the lab computers and are backwards-compatible to WordPerfect 6.0, for students who wish to review the material at home. Arrangements can be made to convert the lectures for viewing in other word processors.
