OBITUARY

JAMES R. McLEAN

The many friends of James Roland McLean will learn with regret of his death which occurred Thursday morning. The late Mr. McLean was eighty-five years of age and had been in failing health for a few months. He is survived by his wife and one adopted son, David with whom he resided.

The funeral will be held this afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Sadler, Upper Water St., at three o'clock. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. F. H. Holmes assistedy by the choir of the United Church at two (sic) two-thirty o'clock. Interment will be made in Riverside cemetery.

Notes: The Sadler Family Bible - Deaths recorded that Mr. McLean died at age 85years, 10 months and 18 day. If correct, that would make his birthdate, 30 Nov 1848.

Curiously, Mr. McLean is not listed, as one might expect, in Cemeteries of the Parish of Chatham, Volume II of II - Protestant (Miramichi, N.B.: N.B. Genealogical Society, Miramichi Branch, 2005).
