Index-finger curl won't allow good intonation in lower positions. Otherwise, the hand position looks pretty good: if we saw a top-down view, there would probably be a satisfactory "C" shape in the hand. Perhaps raising the left elbow a bit (or going all the way back to the poke-your-eye-out exercise, which would accomplish the same thing) would help allow the index finger to extend (up) more naturally.
