Lecture notes |

Students are cautioned that these lecture notes are primarily intended for the instructor's own use, and are not composed with the intention of being stand-alone reference materials. They should therefore be considered supplements to the readings and lectures. Students are further advised that the lectures as delivered can often diverge widely from the notes themselves. For this reason, reading the notes should not be considered a replacement for attending the lectures. (If I've said something in class, it could end up on an exam, whether it happens to be in my lecture notes or not.)
