Regular exams

There will be four equally-weighted, multiple-choice, non-cumulative, one-hour exams in this course. Under NO circumstances will exams grades be re-weighted.

Make-up exams

Make-up exams will be the same format and length as regular exams.

You will be permitted to write a make-up exam if (1) you provide documentation to show that something unforeseeable prevented you from attending the regularly scheduled exam; or (2) you provide legitimate documented reasons showing that you are required to miss the exam, well in advance of the scheduled time. Failure to provide legitimate reasons and documentation will result in the assignment of a grade of 0% for the missed exam.

Make up exams MUST be arranged through the T.A., Jayme Melnick . See Schedules and Instructors for his office hours, phone number, and e-mail address. Permission to write make-up exams will ordinarily be granted only on medical grounds or upon proof of exam conflict.

Remember that it is our policy that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will exam scores be re-weighted. Furthermore, make-up exams may not be treated as a second chance. So if, for example, you are ill and unable to write the exam, seek medical attention if at all possible, inform the T.A., and do not write the exam. We will be happy to accommodate your appeal to write the make-up exam. But we will not retrospectively accommodate a poor performance on a regularly scheduled exam if you choose, instead, to write it.

See Notices for times, dates and locations of regular and make-up exams, as well as exam review sessions.
