Meadowbank Third Portage Geology
NPs or F3(CBD) folds in the Third Portage and Bay Zone area locally plunge down the dip of the macroscopic F2 fold limbs.
Due to the variable east to west dip direction of the F2 macroscopic fold limbs, NPs steep axial planes have a plunge direction that porpoises from NNE to SSW.
In the Bay Zone and Third Portage area NPs or F3(CBD) folds are superimposed on the SE limb of the major North Portage synform.
On the Bay Zone Island, 060 trending NPs open to tight chevron style folds plunge NE. The F2 fold limb locally dips easterly, yielding a local NPs fold plunge to th NE.
