Braced by financial support from around the world, Saskatchewan farmer Percy
Schmeiser vowed yesterday to continue his legal battle with U.S.-based giant
Monsanto Corp. over genetically modified canola.
Mr. Schmeiser said he has received $50,000 in contributions to finance an
appeal of a ruling that he had knowingly grown a crop of Monsanto's Roundup
Ready canola without its permission.
