Assignments

1) first essay (1,000 words) - due October 21 - 20%
2) final essay (2,500 words) - due December 5 - 35%
3) group presentation - one of four presentations, lasting about an hour in total - 25%:
a) Oct. 28 - Episode 11: Sirens
       b) Nov. 4 - Episode 13: Nausicaa
        c) Nov. 11 - Episode 15: Circe
        d) Nov. 18 - Episode 16: Ithaca
4) quizzes at beginning of each class dealing with Ulysses (8 reading quizzes in all, best 7 count) - 10%
5) attendance and participation - 10%
There will be no final examination in the course.

Academic Accommodation on Medical Grounds

Students seeking academic accommodation on medical grounds for any missed tests, exams, participation components and/or assignments worth (either alone or in combination) 10% or more of their final grade must apply to the Academic Counselling office of their home Faculty and provide documentation. Academic accommodation cannot be granted by the instructor or department.

Documentation shall be submitted, as soon as possible, to the Office of the Dean of the student's Faculty of registration, together with a request for relief specifying the nature of the accommodation being requested.
