Sample Preparation Workshop - June 10, 2011

***Workshop Program***

The X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRFS) is a fast, accurate and the most cost effective analytical technique for solid sample analysis, provided a properly set-up and calibrated spectrometer as well as the correct sample preparation procedure.

Matrix effects such as grain size effect, mineral and chemical effects and specimen surface conditions are the most common causes of inaccurate XRF analysis results.  Correct sample preparation technique will drastically reduce matrix effects and minimize analytical errors.

This workshop will provide an overview of common sample preparation techniques – fusion, braquitting, surface conditioning and cryogenic milling, currently used in XRF analysis.   Practical hands-on exercises supplement lectures.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION FEES
By April 30 - $ 350.00 CAD
After April 30 - $ 450.00 CAD
