Module 3 Assignment Major Research Presentation (Group or Individual Presentation)

This assignment should be linked with your personal goal(s) for this course. Collaboration with colleagues will be even more critical in the new millennium as we are challenged to remain current in education. Here's your chance to link with peers who share your interests in this course, choose a topic, research and present an overview of it. Decide on your own or among yourselves how you will organize your content and through the contributions of the 4 or 5 of you, the rest of us will complete this course with a much broader and richer background in the field of learning disabilities. Be creative.

Topics should be developed from the strands covered in section 3 of our textbook. Look in Caucus for additional information about the topics and dates for presenting each:

Strand H

Placements and Services for students with LD (a topic from this strand )
Behavioural Treatment Interventions
Meta-cognitive Approaches to teaching students with LD

Strand I

Vocational and College Opportunities for youth and adults with LD
Issues in the field including teacher preparation/ PD

STRAND J

Technology and students with LD in elementary, secondary, post-secondary environments

Email instructor regarding your area of interest so that you or your group can get working on your presentation outlines A.S.A.P. Groups with shared interests or individual interests will be posted in Caucus and then it is your responsibility to decide (through on-line discussions or email) the focus (topic) of your presentation, what and how you will present your content. Submit you choice of topic through Caucus. The instructor will add participant choices as they are made. Due dates are posted in Caucus.

On-line presentations will be posted in Caucus, The "Major-Presentation" Theatre.

Criterion: (50 marks) overall impression, practical applications of information, resources for peers to access for additional information. Please take advantage of the internet and use hot links in your presentations, if and when applicable. Be clear and concise. You may create a web site if you have the technological background  or know someone who can help your group. (Weighted 30%)
