Portfolio

Use Wordpress (or similar) CMS software to create a portfolio/resume website for yourself. You can have as many sections as you like for the site, but there does need to be:

  • Working navigation (a menu that your audience can use to navigate the site -- you can decide what sections make the most sense for your career goals. There doesn't need to be any content on the pages, except for a main headline. See below for some examples.)
  • Some content for the home page (for example, what your career goals may be)
  • A resume or CV that is a web page (i.e., not a link to a PDF) or multiple web pages

Remember to post a link to your portfolio on the homepage of your exercises page.

Example architecture

There's lots of ways to approach this exercise. Some people divide their site up into areas where they have work samples -- or plan to -- so for example:

  • writing
  • video
  • audio
  • graphic design
  • web design

Some will take the approach of making the whole site act as their resume, for example:

  • education
  • work experience
  • volunteer experience
  • hobbies
  • accreditations

Feel free to make this your own!
