Lecture 1. Thursday Sept. 4, 2008.

Index to the October 2004 issue of the American Journal of Botany. This is where you will find the papers referred to in Lecture 1 and Assignment 1, Keeling (2004) and Palmer et al. (2004).

Assignment 1. Due Tuesday September 23.

On Tuesday Sept. 16, we will finish Lecture 1, reviewing phylogenetic trees (Palmer 2004 Fig 1, Palmer 2004 Fig 2, Keeling 2004 Fig 1, and Keeling 2004 Fig 3), and then carry on with Lecture 2, below.

Lecture 2. Tuesday Sept. 16, 2008.

On Thursday Sept. 18, we will go on a brief campus hike, starting from PAB east doors at 10:30 sharp, to see some of the diversity of plants that we will study in a semi-natural setting.

Lecture 3. Tuesday Sept. 23, 2008.

Essay Instructions. Due Tuesday November 18.
