The patient DOES need a pacemaker as definite sinus node
dysfunction is seen and the patient has definite symptoms related
to the bradycardia.
Indications For A Pacemaker In SSS
Class I
Evidence of symptomatic bradycardia which can be intrinsic (or iatrogenic)
in some patients. This type of bradycardia is a result
of long-term drug therapy which has no accepted alternative
dosage or type. Evidence of frequent sinus pause.
Chronotropic
incompetence with appropriate symptoms.
