Course Description

Physics 029a/b, Physics for the Biological Sciences II

Fundamental physics concepts are introduced with an emphasis on applications in physiological and biological processes. Topics include: electric structure of water molecule, static and dynamic properties of fluids with an emphasis on the cardiovascular system, signal conductivity in nerves, elasticity of tissues, and molecular vibrations.

3 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours every other week, 0.5 course.

In combination with Physics 028a/b, this course is a suitable prerequisite for programs in the Faculty of Science and for Professional Schools with a Physics requirement.

Recommended. Publisher sells I and II in one package only.
 
III. Physics 029a/b Laboratory Manual 2006 – 2007:
Required. Published and sold by UWO bookstore. There are other physics labs sold in the bookstore. Make sure you obtain the right package. Check your purchase immediately; some items the bookstore sells are considered "final sale"
